School Buildings Closed, Spring Break Remains the Same, Long Term Plan for Younger Students, New Procedure for Chromebook Hardware Issues
We all hope you had a great second day of At-Home Learning. This fun video of CCS’ First Day of At-Home Learning made us all smile. Thank you again to our students, families, and employees for making the best out of this situation. We had our second CCS Storytime Live today with Mrs. DeAnna Finger reading Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman. Watch it here!
Here are a few updates for today:
School Buildings Closed, Grab-n-Go Meal Sites Remain Open. Staff May Telework.
Beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020, all of our school buildings will be closed to the public with the exception of our 16 schools that provide FREE Grab-n-Go Meals to children ages 18 years and younger.
CCS will open teleworking to all personnel, excluding essential staff, beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020. This means that employees can perform their work in a remote setting or off-campus, and they will be paid as usual. Any employee that is not on leave must be available and accessible from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
For those very few essential employees who remain working in our buildings, please continue to practice social distancing and proper handwashing. If you or someone you have been in contact with has symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to work! Our number one goal is to keep our employees and students healthy.
Spring Break Remains the Same
As long as nothing changes from the government (which we do not anticipate), we will still observe Spring Break April 13-17 and observe April 10 as a legal holiday. Great news!
Long Term Plan for Pre-K - 5th Grade
We are working on a long term plan for our youngest students (Pre-K through 5th grade). Our 6th-12th graders can remain working online as we originally planned. We will roll that out soon.
New Procedure for Chromebook Hardware Issues
If students in grades 6-12 encounter hardware issues with their Chromebooks (such as it not starting up), please:
Our goal is to swap out devices if needed, repair the original Chromebook, and then ask students/parents to return to pick up the repaired Chromebook. We will disinfect the Chromebook and chargers when we receive the device and before returning to the student.
