14,000 PPE Items Donated, Number of Meal Locations in Foard Feeder Area Reduced
Here are the top 3 things you need to know from this message:
Good afternoon Catawba County Schools families,
As we close out our second week in our At-Home Learning period, we hope that you have begun to settle in and things are running a little smoother. Next week is only a four-day school week and then we have a full week of Spring Break. Elementary families, please remember to pick up your next set of paper work-packets next Monday and Tuesday. Here are a couple of important announcements to close out our week:
We donated almost 14,000 PPE items and loaned 15 hospital beds to CVMC & Frye
We are so proud of the work and dedication of our CTE Health Science teachers from all five high schools and our Catawba County Schools Maintenance Department. They did an outstanding job of collecting and delivering personal protective equipment (PPE) and hospital beds from our CTE classrooms to our major community health partners, Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center.
Our teachers collected the PPE they would normally use in their Health Science I, II, and Nursing Fundamentals classes. Our Maintenance Department disassembled, reassembled, loaded, and delivered a total of 15 beds to our local hospitals. Fantastic work, everyone!
In addition to the 15 hospital beds from our CTE Nursing Fundamentals Classrooms we loaned, we also donated:
We are so happy to be able to provide these items used by our Health Science teachers and students to help support our healthcare workers and patients. We are all in this together!

We will continue offering Grab-n-Go meal at these 4 locations:
The following sites will no longer be available for Grab-n-Go meal pickup.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hardship this may cause due to this unavoidable situation. We hope that you will still be able to visit any of the 4 sites in the Foard area or any of our other 50 locations across Catawba County.
You can find an updated list of our 54 Grab-n-Go locations on our new website: https://www.ccs-coronavirus.net/meals.html
